Currently the only Auxiliary weapon offered in TSW is the Rocket Launcher.  Unlocking the rocket launcher requires completion of the Venetian Missile Crisis quest line.

Similar to active weapons in TSW, you will have a ability wheel for your auxiliary weapons. While the rocket launcher is currently the only weapon available on the wheel, there are slots for 9 auxiliary weapons (3 melee, 3 ranged, and 3 magic).

The SP for Rocket Launcher works the same as other weapons. In order to max our your Rocket Launcher Skill you will need to put 55 points into the skill line (rank 10). The Rocket launcher tree contains 7 abilities. 4 active, and 3 passive.

Each ability costs 50 points to unlock (for a total cost of 350 AP)

A full rework of the Lair System

Within each zone, there is a region called a “Lair” which contains Elite Q10 mobs.  Kingsmouth Quest: Unto the Beach, Savage Coast Quest: Sinking Feeling, Blue Mountain Quest: the House Always Wins.  Scorched Desert Quest: Return of the Red Nights, Carpathian Fangs: Beyond the Iron Curtain.

In 1.2, the region will now be outlined in dark red on your map, warning unknowing players and keeping them from wandering into the hostile territory unprepared.

Inside the primary entrance to each lair is a repeatable mission. This mission allows players to chose region boss pattern pieces for that region, and aides in completing the puzzle sections.

These Missions are:

  • From Beyond the Iron Curtain (The Carpathian Fangs)
  • The Spoils of Cold War (The Shadowy Forest)
  • Midnight Mass (The Besieged Farmlands)
  • Sinking Feelings (The Savage Coast)
  • Unto the Beach (Kingsmouth)
  • Citadel of Pain (City of the Sun God)
  • Return of the Red Nights (The Scorched Desert

Additional lair changes include:

  • All lair mobs now have a chance to drop Bind on Pickup rare core items.
  • All Lair bosses will now drop two Bind on Pickup rare items, 1 rare signet, 1 rare Glyph kit, and two Region boss blueprints.
  • All Region bosses will now drop a loot bag containing 2-4 blueprints to summon that boss, 3 epic Bind on Pickup items, 1 epic signet, 1 epic Glyph kit and a unique Raid Puzzle Piece.

Dawning of an Endless Night (spoilers) – Blue Mountain stage (steps 12-17)

Dawning of an Endless Night: TSW Guide

Blue Mountain Steps (12-18)

Previous Steps – Savage Coast

Dawning of an Endless Night is the main story arc for Solomon Island.  TSW is a story-driven MMO with the main story divided between Dawning of an Endless Night; Black Sun, Red Sand (Egypt); and Mortal Sins (Romania).  In between each chapter of the story, players participate in a faction specific interlude.  This TSW Guide, as with all of our quest guides, uses spoiler text so that you only receive a solution for the step you need help on.  Simply click the appropriate help  spoiler to reveal the solution you need.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 12

“Find someone in the Blue Mountain who can tell you about the mines.”

Need Help finding someone who knows about the mines?
Spoiler:
Visit Eleanor Franklin in the Franklin mansion for a cut-scene.

Once you do, the quest changes to “Search the mansion for Edward Franklin’s notes.”

Need Help finding Edward Franklin’s notes?
Spoiler:
The catch, here, is to find the ghost of Edward – he likes to look at his paintings and each one gives you a new clue.  Go upstairs.  The first visible painting is “the Knight” on the 2ndfloor.  Edward appears and tells you that “death stares back.”  The next painting is the “Eyes of Death,” on the 2nd floor near the stairs to the first floor.  Ed tells you that “he believes in angels.”  The next painting is the “Angel Wings” on the 1stfloor.  Ed tells you that “there was no redemption.”  The next painting is “Redemption” near the entrance to Eleanor’s room.  It opens a secret door to Ed’s hidden office.  Ed Franklin’s strongbox is at his desk.  This completes the quest step.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 13

“Go to the Blue Ridge Mine.”  The entrance is at 533, 595.  This is a dangerous traverse, with plenty of Q5 ranked solo and elite mobs along the way.  It is recommended to approach from the SW coming in through the “Ash Forest” on the map.  Once you enter, you are informed to “enter the deep shaft.”  There are elite Hate Machines along the way, you are advised to tread carefully and avoid them.  There are also red circles on the ground that damage you, stay out of them.  Head to the right as you enter the mines.  You will find an elevator shaft with an interaction eligible box, use it.

Need Help in the Deep Shaft?
Spoiler:
Once you are in the deep shaft, you will encounter a number of Seeping Shades.  These are tough, but soloable, Q5 mobs.  Ranged attacks with self-heal ability are advised here.  When they die, they leave a filth effect – stay out of it until it disperses.  These mobs have a high drop rate for green items, it is advisable to kill them if you can.  Head in and to the right, you will see a drop down, use it.  Here you will find a miner’s hat with a headlight, use it to help seeing in the dark of the mines.

Move very carefully in here, pull filth mobs back and finish them off one by one.  Move into the dark area and hang a left, followed by an immediate right.  Exploring forwards, you will find two left tunnels, take the first one.

Don’t worry if you get lost, keep poking around carefully until you find a miner on the ground with a flare gun beside him.  Pickup the flare gun.  You will see a filth covered root, proceed through there.  Keep moving forwards until you find the Fiend of Corruption and dispatch him.  Once he is defeated, you will see the Gaia’s seal (a root in the ground).  Interact with it.  The quest updates to “pass the Gaia seal.”  This begins a pair of extended cut-scenes, including your third encounter with Beaumont and the introduction of the Wabanaki to the story.

Dawning of an Endless Night, Gaia root

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 14

“Speak with Old Joseph.” Joseph is at the Wabanaki village, head there.  The path is not safe, be ready to fight your way to it.  Alternately, this might be a good place to use your Agartha conduit and come at the village from a safe direction.  Joseph gives you some background that ties together the information from Ed Franklin and the Wabanaki woman, Ami Legend.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 15

“Activate the wards.”  You now begin a series of quests which take you through each Solomon Island zone (Kingsmouth, Savage Coast and Blue Mountain).  Each step involves a ring event in which Viking undead help you fend off Filth zombies.  These are difficult steps for lower QL players.  Consider running these in a group.

Dawning of an Endless Night, Kingsmouth Wards

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 16

“Go to the Wabanaki holy site.”  Old Joseph hooks you up with some serious mojo.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 17

“Go to the Deep Shaft.”

It’s time for your final confrontation (?) with Beaumont.  Return to where you last fought him in the mines.  Anything you killed during your last foray should be dead, so this might be a very quick, or very slow run.  Even with the buff of the ages, this is a significantly hard fight.  Consider using a survival build (dps/heal) with a blend of hitpoints and dps gear.

 Need Help Beating Freddie Beaumont?
Spoiler:
Beaumont uses a few tricks during this fight.  When he summons copies of himself, kill them before they finish casting their effects.  When all three circles overlap, you die.  When he summons his wolf companions, kill them off while continuing aoe damage on Beaumont.  As the fight winds down, he spawns copies and wolves.  You can knock out his copies and then just burn him down.  This may be a very long, drawn out fight – bring lots of resources for it.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 18

“Find a way out of the ice caves”

After defeating Beaumont, you are treated to a quick cut-scene featuring Cassandra, Cassie, King and Freddie Beaumont.  From there, you are whisked away to the ice caves.  You find some camp supplies in the area.  You discover some notes on the ground:

Amundsen’s Fragment tells you about the final steps of a failed expedition.  The notes reference a gate at the center.  A Sherpa named Belmont points out that “our journey truly begins.”  Something called “Shambala” is referenced repeatedly.

Dawning of an Endless Night, Amundsen's letter

Moving around the campsite triggers a voice-over, a number of ghost spawns and a number of items to pickup and read.  Take your time and explore around in here.  There’s a lot of information being given out quickly, and it’s probably quite important.

Dawning of an Endless Night, this has been going on for some time!

You will come to a void-looking wall.  You witness a reflection walk through it.  Follow her and keep moving forwards.  You see a gift on a table, interact with it, or do not.  It is your choice.  (if you chose to refuse the gift, just jump off the ledge.. ) This returns you to the cave where you fought Beaumont.  Begin to leave the cave and you will discover what happened to Beaumont in your absence.

Dawning of an Endless Night, are you being offered a gift?

The story continues…

Dawning of an Endless Night, looking into the void

The story moves to London for A Sign of the Times!

Savage Coast Steps (Steps 8-11)

Previous Steps – Kingsmouth Steps

Dawning of an Endless Night is the main story arc for Solomon Island.  TSW is a story-driven MMO with the main story divided between Dawning of an Endless Night; Black Sun, Red Sand (Egypt); and Mortal Sins (Romania).  In between each chapter of the story, players participate in a faction specific interlude.  This TSW Guide, as with all of our quest guides, uses spoiler text so that you only receive a solution for the step you need help on.  Simply click the appropriate help  spoiler to reveal the solution you need.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step -8

“Enter the basement” Once you enter Savage Coast and head to the flagged house on your map, you are prompted to enter an instance in the basement.  You are confronted with a  puzzle door.  On a desk to the left is a book called “enlightenment.”  Pick it up and read it (it is in your inventory after you pick it up).

Seek Enlightenment

The man who seeks enlightenment must do the following:

Find Balance

Face Death

Burn the Past

And Climb the Pyramid

There, at the apex, his eyes will be open

Need Help with the Door?
Spoiler:
You will find the objects you need in the room you are in.  Place the objects in the exact order listed in the book.  Yin/Yang (bottom right), Skull (second from top on left), Phoenix (second from top on right), Pyramid {top left), Illuminati (bottom left).

This will trigger a cutscene as the door opens.

Dawning of an Endless Night, Illuminati door

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step – 9

Defeat the guardian.  You only have to do a bit of damage and you will be rescued via cut-scene by Jack Boone’s accomplice, John Wolf.  You will meet up with John later on in Savage Coast, he is the quest giver for the Black House quest line.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step – 10

“Talk to the survivors at Innsmouth Academy.”

Enter the offices at the Innsmouth Academy where you are treated to a cut-scene with Carter, Annabel Usher and Hayden Montag.  You are given a clue to the location of a hidden Illuminati vault, go there.  You enter the old block instance, the hidden area is in the room to the very left on the first floor.  Click on some floorboards to reveal the doorway.  You are faced with a similar puzzle to the one from step-8.

In the office to the right from where you entered, you find a book called “The Order of Great Works on the desk.  The book tells you:

All things in their place under stars

The stone Lodges erected

To the watchful eye

Upon the bones of opposers

And their symbols, buried

Need Help Finding the Objects?
Spoiler:
Warning, you have a fight each time you pickup an object.

The Skull is in the room immediately to the right as you leave the doorway room.

The Masonic symbol is in the room at the end of the hall on the right

The Templar symbol is in the room at the end of the  hall on the left

The Illuminati symbol is at the end of the hall on the 2ndfloor (left from stairs)

The Star of David symbol is in the left room at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor (right from stairs)

Dawning of an Endless Night, Second Illuminati Door

Need help with the door?
Spoiler:
Once again, place them exactly in the order listed in the book.  Star of David, Masonic Symbol, Illuminati, Skull, Templar.

You get to see Beaumont a second time here.  This time, you and he have a quick confrontation.  Spoiler alert – he wins.  You are now trapped in the vault and need to find the way out.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 11

“Search the Archives to discover what Beaumont was doing here.”

Need Help Finding out what Freddie was up to?
Spoiler:
Take two rights and go down a set of stairs.  Go to the left and around until you find a book with a pair of dead bodies near it.  You find the book and a note that suggests someone named Beaumont was involved in an incident at the Blue Mountain Mines back in 1881.

Maybe this was a descendant of Beaumont?  Exit the vaults.  You will encounter the Archivist.  He’s a big nasty fellow, but he can be killed using ranged attacks and good avoidance of the circular area of effect attack he does.  The caretakers can also be killed for loot and xp.  Exiting the archives requires solving one more puzzle.  There are four icons on the ground, standing on one lights it up.  The goal is to light up all four icons and a secret door opens.

Dawning of an Endless Night – TSW Guide

Kingsmouth Portion (Steps 1-7)

Dawning of an Endless Night is the main story arc for Solomon Island.  TSW is a story-driven MMO with the main story divided between Dawning of an Endless Night; Black Sun, Red Sand (Egypt); and Mortal Sins (Romania).  In between each chapter of the story, players participate in a faction specific interlude.  This TSW Guide, as with all of our quest guides, uses spoiler text so that you only receive a solution for the step you need help on.  Simply click the appropriate help  spoiler to reveal the solution you need.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 1

“Go to the Sheriff’s Office in Kingsmouth.”

The step updates when you approach Sheriff Bannerman.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 2

“Locate Kingsmouth survivors to learn more about the fog.”

Need Help Finding Survivors?
Spoiler:
While there are survivors all through the Sheriff’s station, Helen specifically referenced three (Henry Hawthorne, Madame Roget and “Norma with a shotgun.”  The quest updates when you approach Norma Creed.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 3

“Investigate the Lady Margeret.”  Updates to “beat the captain” when you board ship.  Updates to “Examine the Captain’s log” when you defeat the Captain.

Need Help finding the log?
Spoiler:
In my experience, the captain tends to drop this right on the main deck of the boat.  It won’t necessarily be right where he died, either.  Look around for a very small, yellow-outlined object.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 4

“Talk to Dr. Bannerman.” Use the dialog box for Dr. Bannerman.  Quest updates to “Locate Dr. Bannerman’s clinic.”  The clinic is immediately next door to the police station.  As you approach the clinic, the quest updates to “Examine Dr. Bannerman’s files.”  The files are in the room downstairs, back on the right as you enter.

Need Help with the Pasword?
Spoiler:
There is a picture frame on the ground beside the computer.  It has an important clue for the computer password.  Access the computer.  The password is “Vivaldi.”  Run the file for the Lady Margaret incident for the update.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 5

“Find Derrick Creed, Find Lawrence Creed.”  Follow your map to Derrick.  He is currently eating his deceased brother Lawrence Creed.  Inspect Lawrence for access to his drivers license.  The quest updates to “Find Joe Slater.”  Follow your map to Joe’s house.  As you approach Joe’s door, you will get a cutscene drawing your attention to the green goo puddles from Joe’s door to an adjacent sewer.  Head into the sewer.

Dawning of an Endless Night, the family that eats together...

Once inside the sewer, take a right, then a left, followed by another left.  You will get meet the Broodsource shortly after taking a right bend.  Once she is defeated, you find what’s left of Joe.  Once Joe is done talking, you update the quest.

Dawning of an Endless Night, now THAT is ugly

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step 6

“Use the Siren Song and follow it.”

The song is in your inventory, put it in an easily accessible bag spot, you will use it a few times as you approach its target.  The first use directs you towards a stairwell exit.  The song is directing you to the Blue Ridge tunnel on the northwest side of Kingsmouth.  Follow it into the tunnel.  You may have already found this doorway, working on the Pickup.  If not, you might want to go do that quest first. It helps keep the narrative straight.  Just inside the tunnel is a doorway, enter it.

Dawning of an Endless Night, tie-in to the Pickup

Need help with some lasers?

Spoiler:
Once inside, you are confronted with a number of tricks and traps.  The first one you see is a set of vertical lasers.  The ones to the left are shorting out – wait for them to drop and then step through.
Dawning of an Endless Night, lasers

Proceed forwards until the hall bends to the right.  Be careful, you are once again confronted by a laser – this time floor mounted, jump over this one.

Dawning of an Endless Night, still more lasers

Your next obstacle will be a room on your left.  The doorway has three vertical lasers.  Once again, though, these are shorting out.  Simply wait for them to fail and walk through.

Dawning of an Endless Night, the final room!

The song leads you to a map of the island, walk up to it to trigger your next cut-scene.  You are introduced to the primary villain of the first story arc, Beaumont.  You are also re-introduced to Cassandra, Cassie, King.

Dawning of an Endless Night: Step -7

“Examine Beaumont’s notes”

These are sitting on the table where you are standing.  The notes suggest Beaumont was using an airplane to look for “the Black Heart of the Island.”  Head to the airport.  The notes you need are sitting on a table in a hangar.  Read them.  The map location referenced is in the Savage Coast section of Solomon Island.  You get there via a tunnel just down the road past Jack Boone.
